I'm not taking your word that it's there. I even offered you incentive to prove me wrong, which you haven't.

One of the studies you linked seems to clearly establish the working dynamics and correlation of the factors in question, which is very helpful and informative. But I don't think such an explanation is to be found in a textbook, which typically deal with broader topics than the specialized relationships that studies like to focus on.

Perhaps these same dynamics could be teased out of a text, but I really doubt it, and if it is possible I think it would involve a genuinely unreasonable investment of time for someone like myself to accomplish. Hence my labeling Doug's reply as curt, and offering incentive to you (someone who seems to have some background in this area) to show just how accessible such information actually is in a physiology text.
