Several thoughts come to mind.
1. Adding an additional 200 calories per day would likely stop any desires for additional carbohydrate calories from starchy sources.
2. If you crave specifically potatoes, likely you are simply experiencing the chemical (this includes emotional) elimination of them from you. Cravings get stronger when reinforced, weaker when ignored.
3. You may find you do better on 2-3 meals per day as opposed to 4-5 snacks. You'll be better satiated after each meal, and the satiation will last longer.
