Subject:         Dr, Graham, why extra 100 calories per each month?

Hi Dr Graham,
I have heard from several people that you recommend eating an extra 100 calories per each month of pregnancy on this lifestyle. When I look on nutritional boards, they only recommend 300 or so calories extra by the end of pregnancy. Do pregnant women need to eat more on the 80/10/10 diet compared to other diets? I was just wondering where does the extra 100 calories per each month of pregnancy recommendation comes from.
Please advice.
Thank you.
