Subject:         Water Fasting

Hi Dr. Graham,

If I decided to water fast once a week for religious reasons,
while eating enough calories on the other 6 days to maintain
my weight, what could the potential health drawbacks be? I
enjoy one-day water fasts, but have never experimented with
doing them as frequently as once a week.

I am not an athlete and am just getting back into fitness via
walking 30-45 minutes a few times a week, and some light
cardio a couple days a week. I would plan on refraining from
exercise on my fast day, and just working on my studies and
only light chores. And if for some reason on a fast day I felt
my hunger was just too strong to be productive in my study
work, I would eat so that I could carry on with my duties.

This would be my potential plan. Just curious about what else
I should be careful with if I did this every week?
