As Doug has said often, food is only one variable in
health. For me, being loving, peaceful and
supportive and tolerant of others is one of the most
important things I could do for my own health. I
could eat perfectly organic, ripe, fresh fruits and
veggies all day, every day, and still judge others,
try to control them and build up resentments
(poison) in my mind.

I don't believe that one changes their ways just by
information alone. Ever. I believe there is a
conscious tipping point wherein someone WANTS or
sees the NEED to change. When one believes that the
way they are doing something "works" or "works
enough," they haven't reached that tipping point and
no one else could say otherwise. One's mind needs
to be OPEN to new information. Like the saying,
"you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make
him drink."

The inability to communicate with each other in this
partnership is doing more to create a toxic
environment for the children then you might realize.
Looking to the food as a magic wand...that if the
food is raw and vegan then the children will be
"healthy" is, well, not realistic.

When one knows the other judges them for their
decisions or wants to change or control how they do
things in whatever way (even if it is only with
their children...) that person may guard up, dig
their heels into the ground on their position,
(needing to be right, rather than happy.)

Appealing to someone to join with you in finding the
best way for all involved (especially the kids),
like Doug just wrote, resonates with me, but more
for just how the kids eat....kids who are raised
with fighting parents who cannot agree, grow up with
issues. I know from experience and it took a while
to heal that. I also know that the mind affects the
body in ways we cannot even imagine...think of the
stress one argument has on your system...

Anyway, communication is key. People who feel that
others are looking to join rather than push...are
more open and receptive to suggestion, rather than
control.

Love and light ~ Lisa
