There are many animals that have been here for considerably longer than we have been here. Many of these animals are eating foods that are completely different to the foods they ate a few million years ago. So what? Is the food better today, or worse? How could we tell? If the food better suits our digestive capacity, does that make it better for us? What if perhaps the water content is higher, or the carbohydrate content is higher? Who is to say if this is a positive or negative change?
Personally, I am going to eat the food that is available to me today. I don't long for fruit that was smaller, less sweet, or more difficult to access.
Heck, the meats the paleos are eating today was not available to the paleos of a million years ago either.
