Yes, you are apparently missing several points.
1. I never said fruit has a high GI. Fruit is mostly listed as moderate or low GI, with only a couple fruits reaching the very bottom of the "high" category."
2. The GL comparison of one food to another is done by weight. I didn't make the rules. We have to compare 1 gram of this to 1 gram of that if we want to be able to assess GL accurately.
3. What you are describing is the same issue as someone saying there's tons of protein in fruit, if you eat enough of it. Again, we must compare by equal units.
