Hormones do play a role in a newborns weight, studies have linked high stress (ie. cortisol, which is a hormone)to larger babies. Also the reason your baby grew so rapidly after being born is not surprising, it was from breast feeding and finally receiving much needed fat, protein and calories. No women should have babies while on the 811 diet, it's very dangerous. I'm sure not even DG's wife was 811 during pregnancy, from what I hear they woof down bottles of nut butter.
