Subject:         Sleep problem

Hi Doug,

I have been adapting to the 80/10/10 Diet for the past five
years now, and I really like it. I know that the diet is a
lifestyle, thus food is not the only element. I do have the
food part down quite well after lots of struggle, but I must
admit that my sleep habits are still awful and causing me to
not fully experience the benefits of 811.

I don't have insomnia, but the problem is for the past 10
years I have regularly been going to bed very late, anywhere
from midnight to 6am. And then the cycle repeats itself and my
body is not ready to sleep until very late. Sometimes I will
start going to bed earlier for a few days in a row, but
eventually I have a late night and get thrown off.

I don't feel good and rested sleeping at such hours. But the
habit still continues and I find it extremely hard to change.

The most rested I have felt in my life was back when I was 12-
13 years old (I am 24 now)and had gotten into a very good
pattern of going to bed at 7:30pm and being able to sleep
until 6 or 6:30. (I know that retiring at such early hours is
when I get my best rest.) But then high school started and I
was not as organized with my time to be able to retire early,
and I developed very bad habits of neglecting my sleep and
knocking it off my list of priorities. It's hard to turn this
10-year habit around and I am suffering the undesirable
consequences. Would you have any tips?
