The comments from others can get rather irritating.
Either mom is too small or she's too big. I'm sure
your ob is happy with your size so don't worry about
what others say about it (what do THEY know anyway,
lol).

Also smaller babies make more sense than larger
babies because what mother would want to push a
10+lb baby out when she can push a 5 or a 6lb baby
out?

I'm amazed at these moms in the news that are giving
birth vaginally to 13+lb babies! Recently there was
a mother in Spain who gave birth to a 13lb, 11 oz
baby vaginally without any pain medication!

As for hormones contributing to the size of the
baby, I'm not sure about that. I do know that women
with diabetes tend to have larger babies.

Also male newborns tend to be larger than female
newborns. I weighed less at birth than my older
brother did (I weighed 6lbs, 2oz and he weighed
almost 7lbs).

As for my children, Andrew weighed 7lbs, 10 oz when
we was born but Rainbow only weighed 5lbs, 13oz.

I had to buy preemie clothes for her to wear!

They didn't last long at all because she grew 3 1/2
inches in 10 days (at birth she was only 17 1/2
inches long)! The naturopath that examined her at
her first well baby checkup never saw a baby grow
that fast in such a short period of time!
