Van, I love your name for the fruit buying technique: Fruit Pressure- beautiful. I try this too, but never really acknowledged it as a "technique". Sometimes when I am really down I eat the fruit during the day grudgingly and still manage to find room to eat a cooked meal at night. It's not just the eating that makes me temporarily feel good, but the cooking itself also makes me happy(I've always really enjoyed it), and the providing for my partner also makes me feel good.

I guess this means that I definitely have underlying issues that just aren't masked by a healthy non-numbing meal- because the drive to eat is not caused by hunger. It is easy to use the world's abundance of stimulants and anesthesias(?) after all these years of practice, instead of honestly looking at what's really bothering you. I'm afraid there is a lot of white whale under the surface.

That said I certainly do put too much pressure on perfection Karen, and it is nice to know that others are still working at it well into the journey. I sometimes get upset that I have been trying to do this since I first read 80/10/10 in 2009 and am nowhere near consistently sticking to it. It's true that when I occasionally do get on a roll- I feel great! I will look into EFT, I've never tried it- it's not just another way to numb out though is it?
