I start by throwing out the things I don't want to eat and buying a bunch of the best fruit I can find. Then the presence of so much fruit that will spoil if not eaten (I call it "fruit pressure") makes me eat more of it, and there's not so much room for anything else.

Over time, I find that the falls are not as quick to occur, long lasting, or deep. I have also made peace with the possibility that I may never be perfect at this. Irregardless of my lack of perfection, my health continues to be good, since I am getting better balance over the years between all the factors, including diet, sleep, and exercise (the 3 biggies, as far as I can tell).

When diet is good enough, I find the biggest factors to address next are often sleep and/or exercise, rather than that last bit of perfection on diet.

These are just a few thoughts from my experiences. I've been trying to do this diet for 5 or 6 years, and I'm not perfect, so now I tell people my diet is "predominated by fresh fruits and vegetables". Breakfast and lunch always are, it's dinner that can be a problem at times (I still keep it vegan).

A couple of times I put together 6 months of near-perfection at this diet, with great exercise and sleep routines as well. The results were AMAZING and set me ahead permanently. Nevertheless, when I'm not perfect at it, I still get pretty good results, and much better than what I used to have. I can tell the difference and now I strive to get back to perfection, but let myself off the hook when I fall down (low-stress is important too, and don't want to add any stress over it).
