I go by whether the taste appeals to my tastebuds as a
guide, on the premise that if it tastes good, bitter
or not, it is likely beneficial to me personally, and
vice versa.

I refer of course to raw fruits and vegetables only!

I'd be interested to know if I am somewhat mistaken.

I confess, this way I fall down on the variety factor
in fruits, eating by choice grapes and dates mostly,
though I enjoy an excellent variety in seasonal
greens.

I look forward to Dr D's reply; something he said
recently to another querent suggested this was ok...
