There have been many long periods wherein I skipped nuts and seeds completely. In nature, we would only tend to find seeds towards in late summer, and nuts a bit later, in autumn.
I don't have the worry you have, so I don't actually track nut or seed consumption by time of year. I haven't had any nuts or seeds in the past month, nor do I feel the need for any.
Nutrition isn't about micromanagement of specific nutrients. Nutrition is about food, and diet. When I wrote The 80/10/10 Diet, I was attempting to get that point across. I yielded, and micromanaged nutrition to the point of considering and discussing caloronutrients, but not the micronutrients, or really the fractions within the caloronutrients. I don't eat in order to get my selenium, zinc, or Vitamin C. I eat foods, whole foods. The diet of fruits and vegetables, with the simple guidelines presented in The 80/10/10 Diet, is sufficient in and of itself.
