Thanks Dr. Graham. I understand what you are saying
and I know my question was as "clear as mud".
Sorry, but my head is spinning from all the
information I've taken in over the past few years
about what the best diet for humans is. If living
in a state of ketosis is like burning "dirty fuel"
as some say it is, then why is it okay during a fast
of 20-30 or so days? Why isn't it okay to remain in
that ketotic state while eating animal protein,
dairy, nuts and seeds and vegetables and perhaps
some berries here and there all the while burning
off toxic fat? I guess what I am saying is that
lfrv makes sense to me but so does sticking to a low
carb diet if one wants to lose weight and regain
health. And I have read that as long as one is
eating lots of carbs - even fruit, then one can't
burn off one's fat? Why so much confusion and
outright controversy? I tried a low carb (SAD) diet
and did indeed lose weight and inches but I didn't
stick with it because I was so tired and looked
unhealthy in my face. But many low carbers say they
feel great after they get through the "induction
flu". Now I am afraid of fat and I am afraid of
fruit and it's a scary place to be at 67 years of
age. I am 5'2 and weigh 160 and am in pain from
head to toe. And I live with the "food police" which
makes eating almost anything a huge issue around
here. I can't afford a consult with you. Guess I am
just venting. I feel like I am lost in the woods
and afraid I'll die before I find my way out. I was
100% raw once for two months and felt amazing. I
could run again! I was calm. My health became more
important to me than weight loss. I had a smile on
my face and a spring in my step all day, every day
and people noticed! I felt fabulous. I so want that
feeling back but I am short on patience and
confidence now. I allowed a visit from a friend,
which lasted for days, to throw me off track and
I've never stuck with raw for any length of time
since. I did a 30 day fast (water only) last year
and amazing things happened but I again, let life
get in the way and didn't re-feed properly. I am
seriously thinking about doing it again and then
doing the re-feed properly and sticking with 80-10-
10. Just had to write all this as best as I could.
Was wide awake until 4 a.m. so have major brain fog
today.
