I've heard dozens of different interpretations of what is vegan. From Jains to animal right's advocates, strict to loose interpretations.

If I save an animal from dying, perhaps finding a pup or cub in the wild, I'm going to feed it its natural food, regardless of my philosophy for caring for myself.

Sure, blood and guts is disgusting. So is letting your pet starve, become malnourished, or otherwise mistreating "your" animal.

Does caring for animals of other species create an ethical dilemma? Maybe. You don't have to take on the responsibility, unless you choose to. My heart is too wide open to deny animals in need from the care I can provide.
