Hi all. Ths is my first time posting something here, so I hhope everybody's doing well.
I'll try to make my story not so long, as I really need some advice, but some background to explain where this all comes from would help. I'd greatly appreciate any opinión/coment/answer/anything :)

A few months ago I came across the low fat raw vegan movement. I first rejected the idea without even trying to learn a bit about it (my mistake, gotta say)
Lucky me, I decided to give it a chance at least, a couple of weeks ago. About a week ago I decided to jump into 80/10/10 as an experiment, for a month, to see how I'd feel, and take more serious decisions later. Little did I know the improvements I'd experience in such a short period of time would make me consider sticking to it and never going back. I know one week is nothing, but most of my health concerns have been almost completely solved, and I don´t remember I'd ever felt so good and alive.

However, there's one thing that keeps me worried, and that's my omeprazol intake. Almost 12 years ago I cought an H. pylori infection that turned into duodenitis. I've been taking ever since meds to treat my acid reflux and heartburn. It is imposible to have a life with the symptoms I experience if I don't take the medication. Even drinking wáter makes me feel sick. I get terribly bloated, and as something were burning inside of my stomach and esophagus if I don't take it. Also, if I don't take it, I get uncontrollable bowel movements that leave me feeling awful.

Now, I believe that if I gave LFRV food a chance, my body would end up healing with (a long) time. The thing is that I need to carry on with my life in the meantime and if I stop taking the medication, I'll turn non-functional. I know this may sound a bit like overracting, but I am by no means rying to do so- I wish I could. I stopped taking it two days ago, and it's unbearable to the point I've decided to take it back tonight.

I've been to several GI practitioners, and their answers are almost automatic. They always say the same, put me on the same proceedures, make me take the same set of medicines, and recommend the same diet. I honestly don not wish to go back to one of those. I've had one bad experience after another and, for the first time in years, after just one week of eating nothing but raw fruits, veggies and nuts -with the exception of this hearburn/acid reflux- my digestive system is finally working.

I know this is very specific. But any suggestion, advice, opinión would be appreciated.

thanx,

isis
