Subject:         Dr Graham: Conventional raw or organic cooked?

Hi Dr Doug,

I have been 80/10/10 raw vegan for about 2 years now. After learning about how much chemical fertilizers and pests go into most of conventionally grown produce, I am very reluctant to buy it now. Actually, it scares me. Our local market sells non-organic fruits that they get from large farms and some organic greens. Sometimes I react to the fruits I buy there and have a slight headache or my cheeks go red.

Would clean organic steamed veggies and root veggies (not grains) be better than chemically laden conventionally grown produce in times when organic fruits are still ripening or when the money to buy organic fruit is a bit short? I cannot eat a ton of dates like other people, plus currently they are not raw anyway before the new season starts. Also, I don't do well on acid fruit or too much low-calorie fruit.

What would you recommend?
