Longer answers could be extremely long, so here are slightly longer answers.

You burn fat all day every day. Almost half of your calories used each day come from fat. You also make fat every day.

The 500 calorie deficit must be considered a rough approximation, at best.

Sedentary is a relative term, since I assume we aren't talking "total bed rest." This makes it difficult to pinpoint your calorie use for the day, except very roughly.
