Thank you for your feedback, your advice is much
appreciated.

Yes, asking you to remotely diagnose was not a fair
position to put you in. My apologies.

I've asked my doctors and others why they prescribe
ice and advil to reduce swelling and the answers i
get don't make sense. in the case on my 2nd doctor,
on one hand he wants to reduce swelling but also
recommends a little mobility to promote inflammation
for the purpose of recovery. He has confidence in my
body to repair the damage but not enough confidence
in it to manage proper swelling. Odd ...

Another reason they mention is reduced swelling can
prevent excess scare tissue that can restrict
movement post recovery. Is this true? If so is it
better to have more scare tissue for a stronger
recovery?

With virtually everything, there is so much
conflicting information and it's frustrating when
seeking the truth. It would seem many professionals
still believe in the effectiveness of the RICE
method for recovery. I suppose it's the old belief
its better to do something than do nothing.

As for my course of action, for now I'm going to
find moderation between the two recommendations.
I'll be seeking a 3rd opinion from a sports
physician early next week.
