I too have similar reactions. I don't crave candy or chocolate or
other traditional junk foods. But what I've noticed for me is the
foods that have an emotional tie to them (good memories
maybe from childhood) are the ones I have the hardest time
getting rid of. I'm impressed with your realization that you'll fall
off the wagon and you don't have to beat yourself up. I struggle
with trying to do it perfect and therefore it's all or nothing. I feel
like - if I can't do 811rv 100% then I'll just eat junk. It never
makes me feel good so I always come back this direction, but I
struggle staying rigid, especially in the evenings. Have you
heard of EFT tapping for anxiety relief? I've used it off and on
but have really been committed to using it lately to deal with the
underlying anxiety that drives me to eat unhealthy foods. You
may find success with such a program. is a great resource. It sounds like
you are making great progress. You are doing well in that you
realize you shouldn't beat yourself up if you aren't perfect. Keep
that mentality and you'll do well. Eventually when feeding our
bodies nutrient rich foods, we begin to desire them more
because of how they make us feel. This is the case for me. But
sometimes, simply for the chance to rebel, I choose other
options instead. Or, if I'm stressed, happy, sad, depressed, etc.
That's where the tapping comes in. Anyway, good luck! You are
definitely not alone in your struggles!
