Dehydrated veggies: almost no weight, make nice soup in the evening.

Dried dates: take the pits out before climbing. At 70 calories per large medjool, he likely only needs 60 or so per day. I don't know what 60 medjools weigh, but it isn't a kilo, I wouldn't think.

Macadamia nuts. .5 lb.
Among the lightest (most fat, hence most calories) per unit volume.

Anything else he takes is just for fun. He's probably got 2 Kg left, if he wants to bring dried mango, banana, etc. Freeze dried fruit weighs even less, but he'll need access to even more water.
