Subject:         do you have to trick the body?

To lose fat you must consume less than you burn but the body wants to
maintain homeostasis and hold on to acce fat right? So do you basically
need to trick it by eating less which I suppose increases hunger .? Then
you would usually need to deal with hunger when dropping pounds?
Wouldn't the body then slow the metabolism in response? I'm
wondering if losing 1 or hopefully 2 pounds per week can be
accomplished steadily over a year or if the body would be slowing the
metabolism and preventing continuous fat loss. Also do you need to get
the hat eart rate up to burn fat. I want to make sure I'm following a
decent fitness program before trying my best only to get no results
