Other than function and aesthetics, there is no inherent health problem with having a low quantity of muscle mass. You will find that depending upon your sports of choice, low muscle mass will work for you, or against you. Big muscled long distance runners are unknown, as are non-muscled sprinters.
Also, as you get older, you will find that your overall strength and muscle size may decline even further, if you do not choose to do at least some strengthening exercises.
