Subject:         Living in Africa- Dr. Graham, your thoughts, please.

Hi Dr Graham,

I have the opoportunity to work for a humanitarian aid organization in rural
Kenya/Tanzania for a few years. The communal living accommodations are clean
and safe, although minimal. The organization directors have assured me they are
able to provide for a vegan diet, and I have let them know that I eat raw fruits
and vegetables exclusively. Do you have any experience maintaining the lifestyle
under these conditions? Also, I am not certain at this point if I will require anti-
malarials, but I am not keen to take them. I have already had major vaccines
(yellow fever is required for entry to the country and to process a visa), though
that was a difficult concession to make, as well. Anyhow, I would like to know
your thoughts on this situation, and any encouragement from you would be
mean a lot to me.

Thank you very much!
