A: Let the time between your meals come naturally.
B: No, it was not me that said your sense of fatigue was mostly mental.
C: If you eat dinner early enough, and have little to no fruit in your dinner meal, it is most understandable that you would be just about out of fuel by the time a mid-morning workout session gets really rolling.
Why not eat a bit? There is no rule that says you cannot or should not do so.
