My first response is that you need enough to feel satiated, and unless you want to lose weight (seems unnecessary and unwarranted from the info you provide) you need to eat enough to hold your weight.
I rarely recommend counting calories, unless there is a problem to be solved.
I wouldn't imagine 1600 calories would be sufficient to hold your weight unless you were fairly sedentary. The upper limit will depend upon the degree of intensity you put into your training.
