Subject:         GI issues in triathlons

Been 8-1-1 for about a year now. My main fruit choices are mangoes, bananas, and dates. I train 15-20 hours a week in triathlon. During training I don't usually get mild GI issues but when racing at the constant higher intensity for a longer duration it's common that my stomach gets irritated. Haven't thrown up yet during a race but at some points I have wanted to.

Some people have said it may be due to my high fiber diet and perhaps 1-2 days before I should eat lower fiber foods like whole grains, soups, etc.

What do you suggest dr. graham?
