I no longer do much aerobic training, maybe a few 5 mile runs per month. But I used to train for triathlons & ran some marathons.
Now I spend anywhere from 3-7 hours on court teaching & playing tennis. If I don't eat enough calories from carbs (fruit), then I will not have the energy to train at a high level. Going from heavier carbs, & likely considerably more calories, to mostly watermelon (unless you are eating a comparable number of calories as on the banana/potato/bean diet) is probably harmful to your long distance training...especially your longer runs. It may be good for your detoxing but not too helpful to heavy training.
How many calories per day were you eating on the banana, potato, & bean diet? And how many while eating mostly watermelon?
I love juicy fruits but find it more economical & quicker to eat denser raw fruits like bananas & dates. They are my "go to" fruits...but I also eat lots of juicy fruits, tomatoes, etc.
If we try to detox, lose weight, or lessen our calorie intake, we have to be careful. At least that's my experience. Good luck.
