I weigh about 20 lbs less now than 20 years ago when I did tris. (I'm into another sport now, tennis, but I'll bet my tri times would be comparable should I train for them. Btw, I'm going to be 60 in a month.) Most folks I hung w/ while doing tris would probably have said I was not too heavy, but I knew...Do not listen to their diet philosophies about endurance training. Listen to Doug & your intuition.

You can be just as stronger & even stronger, if you train in that area. Plus you'll be lighter, faster.
