Subject:	no sense of smell -> no fruits?

a friend of mine just does not like fruits. at all. he does not like other sweets either. he attributes that to the fact that since birth he is lacking the sense of smell. the respective nerve from his nose to the brain is destroyed, and he smells absolutely nothing, not even strong things like gasoline!

now over the years he is getting more and more depressed as well as physically in a bad state (the only taste he appreciated is salt, so he eats tons of that, he sometimes eats it just pure), and he would be very interested in trying the 801010 diet. i told him i would guide him through it as best as i can.

now i wonder if there could be a connection between the lack of smell and the lack of appreciation of anything sweet and fruity. maybe it is obvious. well, i guess we will see how the trial will go, i guess i just wanted to share and see if anybody has any experiences or remarks to share with me.
