Would you say diarrhea is uncommon? Do you think the papaya itself is the culprit or the fact that it is not organic or something else? I've read somewhere that in large amounts, papaya can cause digestive disturbances.
I've stopped eating papaya believing it was giving me diarrhea although very small quantities appeared to be better tolerated. The papaya was conventionally grown.
