I'd contact local produce managers and get them to order cases of fruit for me. I'd get cases of citrus and bananas, and keep things really simple for a while. I might bring a case of dates with me, or have it delivered to me there. There is no place in the US I am aware of that is so remote that it is not possible to get excellent produce. Where are you talking about? How long will you be there? You might get a case of apples if you like them, too.
