While I'm unable to comment on your question, I do know how acute our olfactory organ can be when we've purified our bodies.
I recently walked into a house with three other people & was immediately struck by an overpowering mold/mildew smell & when I asked the others, they told me they could not smell anything of the sort.
I'm unusually sensitive but the smell should have been strong enough for anyone to detect. I even asked one person if his nose was stuffed up & he said no.
