I do this and from my experience it depends entirely on what you eat. If I have a salad with somewhat higher fat/salt, or simpler to digest complex carbs like root veggies I will feel the effect,but not like a full blown food hangover, more just slower digestion, not as hungry the next day, water retention for a couple days (which is still yucky). If you go really crazy on gourmet vegan food, you will not be pleased with yourself an hour later, nor for a couple days later! Similar to a hangover in feeling! I dont ever plan to do that to myself anymore! Same goes for raw gourmet for me though. Simple cooked beats complex raw for me in terms of well being. Definitely if you are going to seek out these social meals to some research before about places that can meet as close to your needs as possible in all regards, and set certain boundaries for yourself.
