I was so emotionally attached to cooked but I had no idea how much until I tried to give it up. Then I realized everything I did was part of some drinking or eating ritual. It was hard to let go but in my mind I knew my relationship with cooked was over. I had horrible painful periods, sleeping issues, my joints were starting to crack and pop all the time, managing my weight meant starving myself,etc.. I was motivated by the idea of having all the wonderful benefits of real food. Cooked is nothing but a sensory experience in my mind. Raw is so superior, I can't even look at cooked as food anymore. It only causes problems and yes, there are ways to minimize the negative effects but raw is where it's at. I am so glad I stuck it out and fought the cravings and can eat 10 bananas for breakfast! It takes patience and motivation but it's very possible and once you are there you will never look back.
