I can't speak for anyone's advice but my own, and that of the CLCs that I've trained. If you wish to eat more AND lose weight, it would have to be more volume, not more calories. This means shifting your focus towards veggies. Be careful however, because if you over-emphasize veggies you invariably will find yourself hitting the nuts and other fatty foods, or even looking for starches, before the day ends.
