Subject:         eat more to lose more

hey, i am very confused about the 'eat more to lose more weight' discussions. how is it possible that for some people it works so well (freelee, etc.) whereas people like i gained 20 pounds while eating 2500 cals of fruit over the last 2 years. do i need to eat more to start losing? or do i have to face it that this does not work for me and start eating less? i am so sad to be an overweight fruity, when before 801010 i looked athletic and slim :(
