1. You are forcing the body to respond to your influence, forcing unnecessary action. 2. Peristalsis (rhythmic muscular contractions) is forced in muscles that were otherwise at rest. 3. You potentially wash out all the "good stuff" along with the "bad stuff." 4. Some of the fecal matter that was near the end of its journey can get pushed backwards, up the colon and large intestine, creating excess work for the body to eliminate it. All of this is draining on bodily reserves. The purpose of fasting is to rest. Why not just keep it that simple?
