My 18 year old daughter is exhibiting symptoms of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. The problems began in her teens and have only gotten worse. But last year for a about 6 months she basically ate the "Eat to Live" plan by Joel Fuhrman mixed with something close to raw vegan. She lost 60lbs and her acne cleared and she did have 1 or 2 menstrual cycles but she still did not have normal cycles. Also, it is very difficult for her to lose weight unless she drastically cuts her calories; since then she has gained about half of that back. I'm wondering if she was close to being cured and if this whole syndrome is mostly diet related. Also, is it necessary for a woman to menstruate every month or can she go every 3 or 4 months and still be considered healthy? Thanks in advance :)
