Gaining weight just plain takes time. Overeating by 100 calories per day will give you 1 pound per month. 200 per day results in 2 pounds gained. You can do the math for yourself, and predict when you will gain the necessary weight to get out.
You'll get out, and then you can adjust your life plan. Currently, doing what it takes to get out needs to be the priority.
