Being on your feet all day can be challenging, but usually it just takes some getting used to. Here are a variety of possible helping strategies: Sit when you can, even if only briefly. Move vigorously on occasion, using stairs or running strides to help circulation. Shift weight from one foot to the other. Put one foot up while standing, on a rail, step, or shelf, and switch feet now and then. There are shoes designed specifically for walking that might be helpful. I find I stand easily for long periods when I use Vibram Five Finger shoes. Squat now and then, and stretch by bending forward from the waist. Hopefully, a few other people will chime in with suggestions too.
