Corn is definitely NOT a sweet fruit, no. It is not a fruit at all, in fact. If you always utilize the culinary rather than the botanical definition, and not switch between the two, you will never be confused.
Sweet corn goes best with greens, is good with other vegetables such as cabbage, and is OK with avocado.
