Hello! I am living on the island of La Palma, part of the Canary islands, the subtropical region of "europe". I have been here for nearly 6 months and during the autumn there was mango and cherimoya paradise, but now there`s a tricky situation. It's winter and the only thing availiable for a clean, natural eater (100% 811rv for almost 2 years)is organic bananas, non organic oranges from local farms and imported deglet noor dates from israel, also non organic. Obviously, we also eat lots of lettuce, greens etc. all organic and good stuff. The problem is this: The oranges are not picked ripe, they vary from extremely sour to fairly sweet but still tart. Far from perfect and hardly enjoyable. I'm worried both for my teeth and general nutrition in regards to eating these oranges! However, I do eat them mostly out of a need for something FRESH and JUICY, as I get very tired of eating only bananas and dates, especially since the dates are not organic as well. What would you suggest doc? Avoid the oranges due to the acidity and stick to the dates and bananas? Avoid the dates due to not being organic, and fairly dry? Avoid both, and eat ONLY bananas for 6 months?? Combination? how? Please help me! Thanks for all your advice and inspiration Doug, you are truly a beacon of truth in the health community! Thanks! Matéo
