Hi Doug. I know you can't give out specific treatment advice here, but please regard this question as generic. If you receive a cut/fairly small puncture wound from a bicycle gear during an accident near the knobby part of the Fibula that covers the ankle, and there was likely oil and/or road grit/dirt on the spoke, would a surface cleaning with water likely be enough, or would you suggest some sort of chemical antibiotic or other cleaning methodology to ensure clean healing? Also, do you have general guidelines for how long you should wait for bleeding (a trickle out of the puncture site) to stop before considering it more serious and seeking medical attention? Assume the person is an otherwise healthy and vigorous 80/10/10 eater. Thanks.
