Hi there, I'm not Dr. D but here's my two cents regarding that topic. I am aware of the toxicity of treated water as well. I would suggest that you install shower head filters and boil water to bathe in instead. Filters are great for warm showers, but I have read that the hotter the water is, the less effective the filtration is. Mine is a kind of crystal filter, not sure about other models, but I would much rather boil a large pot of cold filtered tap water as it saves the water that it wastes to heat the water from the faucet. Filtered water is lower in calcium and I found that it makes the tub cleaner as well as my skin better, so it's definitely worth the investment.
