Subject:         cardio and lifting sequence Q

I am currently lifting weights for an hour, 3 times a week. I feel I am ready to safely add cardio workouts. My question is: Does it make much difference if I do the cardio before or after the strength training...or another option would be to do it on alternate days if that approach is significantly better. What would you recommend...and if it matters, FYI I am 64 and have been doing 811rv about 4 months now, though less than flawlessly.
