Hi, Dr. Graham. I was diagnosed with UTI (Bladder Infection) yesterday by my primary care doctor. I had vaginal itching and then in three days, typical bladder infection symptoms appeared (burning while urinating, etc.). I still have to wait for lab results for vaginal itching until Monday (but for now no apparent symptoms of yeast infection). I have been on 801010 (98% of the time) since April 2012, and loving it. I tried to “cure” UTI by drinking organic unsweetened cranberry (1 quart) a day and lots of water for four days, and it got better but not completely; so I went to the doctor yesterday. She gave me Nitrofurantoin Monoh 100MG cap and said I would take it 2 X days with probiotics. I am aware of your opinions about probiotics. I had not taken antibiotics for over 25 years. I decided to take them today after much consideration because unlike the past UTIs (I got the last UTI maybe 2 years ago, and I get them every five years or so) that healed by cranberry juice within 2 days, this time it is taking time (now 6 days although getting much better). I am concerned about yeast infection because of antibiotics. I read your opinion on candida and high fat diet, too. As long as I stayed low fat 801010, can I continue with 801010 with a lot of sweet fruit even though I am on antibiotics? I am trying to avoid possible yeast infection while on the antibiotics. I would appreciate your advice. Thank you!
