Hello! I am toying with the idea ( this is 100% hypothetical ) of encouraging my parents ( 40 year old male and female ) to go on a water fast, maybe a juice fast. They are both on a Standard American Diet and exercise once in a while. They have no diagnosed medical conditions but I would imagine that they are definitely not healthy on the inside. From your experience, is a direct water fast potentially dangerous ? I have heard the term " auto-toxicity " in that the body, upon detoxing stored toxins from the fat, actually endangers itself by releasing so much toxicity at one time that the person can die. Is this a real thing ? Would a juice fast be better ? How about 1 month of LFRV and then a fast ? My first choice would be to encourage them to go on one of your retreats. Bonus question - How would a water fast effect my grandma? Who is 74, on many medications, and has a heart condition ? Would she just sleep through it all and wake up revitalized, haha. Again, this is purely hypothetical , I will not encourage anyone to do anything that I don't fully understand myself . Thank you Doug , I appreciate your work in this forum very very much!
