Ice for pain management definitely works, but it does so at the expense of healing. So, you have less pain, but you have it for longer, in most situations.
There are methods of using alternating ice with heat to bring maximum blood flow to an area. For the meniscus, do you know what degree the tear is?

BTW, thanks for your kind words. I appreciate them, even though they are unnecessary.
